Volunteer Coordinator

Indianapolis, IN • Part-Time (up to 30hrs per week)

The Volunteer Coordinator's Role and Responsibilities:
Responsible for guiding and overseeing individual volunteers through the steps of the volunteer process at the Hope Center Indy (HCI) facility and causing each volunteer to feel valued.


  • Processes volunteer applications, interviews applicants, and determines placement area

  • Coordinates volunteer schedule with project lead or supervisor in the placement area

  • Completes all necessary requests for in-house requirements such as Name Badge and provides information to the volunteer such as Welcome Packet

  • Conduct follow-up with volunteers at 30-day and 90-day periods to determine volunteer status and follow-up

  • Plans different types of volunteer recognition

  • Oversees the collection of volunteer hours through electronics and paper sign-ins

  • Manages the HCI welcome tables and desks along with compliance with the Safe Visitor      program

  • Takes care of administrative tasks such as answering all types of communication, e.g., phone, email, etc., assisting the Associate Executive, and updating documents and forms

  • Undertakes additional duties and special projects as requested


  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft 365, Outlook, Excel and Word

  • Good communication and organizational skills and a love of people.

  • A mature relationship with Christ.
