Residential Technician

Indianapolis, IN • Full-Time

The Residential Technician (RT or Res. Tech.) reports to the Direct Care Coordinator and is accountable for maintaining the day-to-day operations of the residential floor. The technician reflects and interprets Hope Center Indy’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values in her work with enthusiasm and commitment. She understands and acts by Hope Center Indy and Take Heart Residential Policies, Standards, and Procedures. The technician must be capable of functioning independently with minimum supervision and use professional judgment in ongoing decision-making. She strives to maintain a welcoming environment and open and supportive communication with residents, staff, and volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise residents in  daily activities of the residential program

  • Monitor and inspect resident rooms and community areas

  • Lead or facilitate groups or classes with residents (training provided)

  • Complete written reports

  • Assist in the administration of medication, under the direction of the wellness team

  • Answer phones while on duty

  • Participate in required meetings and training

  • Perform additional duties as required by the nature of the position

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 1-3 years’ experience in residential care or other relevant experience

  • Ability to transport residents and drive to local events that are off-site

  • Excellent written and oral skills

  • Effective problem solving, decision making, and time management skills

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting and flexibility to adapt to change quickly

  • Ability to set and maintain boundaries

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft 365
