I am so thankful that the Hope Center is all about loving and serving others. This story impacted my life many years ago:
One morning a customer noticed a young boy standing outside as he hurried into a bakery. The thin boy stood with his face pressed against the front window looking longingly inside. It was a cold day and a light snow was falling but he was wearing only a shirt and torn pants. While the customer waited for his order, he kept looking back through the window at the poor boy’s pinched face and ruddy cheeks.
The man was moved with compassion and bought a couple of extra pastries. As he came out the door, he handed them to the boy with simply a smile and went on his way.
Soon he heard footsteps running up behind him and a sudden tugging on his coat. It was the boy!
“Please Mister,” He cried with a look of awe on his face. “Are you Jesus?”
When people see us in our daily walk and in our daily interactions, are they reminded of Jesus?
