Every so often, a partnership comes along that transcends expectations. That pushes the boundaries of innovation and compassion. That is exactly what’s happening through the collaboration between Hope Center Indy and Jordan Detection K9, led by trainer and founder Todd Jordan. In a new, powerful episode of the Hope Center Indy Podcast, Todd walked listeners through how a dog’s nose is helping law enforcement uncover hidden devices used in child exploitation cases.
Todd’s journey began long before the K9 program found its home on the Hope Center Indy campus. Starting in 1997 with fire investigation dogs, Todd’s expertise evolved dramatically when he trained his first ESD dog, Bear, who would soon change the direction of his life’s work. Bear uncovered a key piece of evidence in a high‑profile criminal investigation, a moment Todd now describes as a turning point that showed the undeniable potential of these dogs to save real lives. On the podcast, Todd shared:
“I always tell people when I walked out of that house, and all the media was there, that was when my business had to start. As soon as that went national news, and they saw the dog there, everybody wanted a dog at that point. And that’s when I had to start my LLC.”
Fast forward to 2026, and we can now see the unimaginable impact that decision has had on so many lives. In 2025 alone, Our Rescue shared that K9s trained by Jordan Detection K9 were deployed on 2,273 search warrants with an 82% success rate in finding evidence missed in the initial search. Most impressive of all, the evidence the K9s recovered resulted in 1,478 arrests and the rescue of 428 survivors.

*These numbers represent only part of the impact, as they do not include additional teams using K9s trained by Jordan Detection K9.
When Todd first started training ESD dogs, he needed a place where the dogs could work in realistic environments. That’s when he stumbled upon Hope Center Indy. At the time, he didn’t know much about the Center’s mission or the lives being transformed there, he was simply looking for a space to train.
It didn’t take long for him to realize that this partnership would go far beyond just a training facility. Today, the partnership has created a full-circle experience: the dogs trained on campus help protect vulnerable children and survivors in communities across the nation, while the Hope Center continues its life-changing work with survivors.
